What’s On: Gordon Walters: New Vision

11 November to 8 April, Dunedin Public Art Gallery

A ground-breaking, large-scale survey of one of the nation’s greatest modernist artists, Gordon Walters reviews his deceptively simple geometric language and highly distinctive style.

New Vision juxtaposes a body of experimental works completed during the 1950s with a selection of Walters’ best-known paintings from subsequent years to provide new insights into his career. The exhibition – of 150 works – is a partnership project between the Dunedin Public Art Gallery and Auckland Art Gallery Toi o Tamaki. dunedin.art.museum
