What’s On: NZSO’s Summer Pops – Music from the Movies


9 to 17 February, Wellington, Palmerston North, Tauranga, Rotorua, Hamilton, Auckland

Favourite movie themes are centre stage as the NZSO delivers more than 12 hit theme songs from the widescreen traversing a period of 60 years. Under the baton of Kiwi-born associate conductor Hamish McKeich, the orchestral action includes the music from Casablanca, Spider-Man, Chariots of Fire, Rocky and Mission Impossible. The programme includes a special tribute to iconic American composer John Williams with the theme tracks he wrote for Jurassic Park, Schindler’s List and Star Wars. nzso.co.nz
