Be in to win one of three boxed sets of the latest bilingual children’s series by Reo Pepi, valued at $49.99.

Kitty Brown and Kirsten Parkinson, keen to teach their children te reo Māori, soon realised there was a lack of bilingual resources in New Zealand bookstores. The two cousins began working on their own books in 2012 — three years later they self-published their first three-book series. They called it Reo Pepi. In 2020 the pair, who live on the Otago Peninsula, formed a partnership with Allen & Unwin for the release of their third series, Toru.

Toru, a three-book series, builds on early concepts of te reo Māori. The books in Toru, along with illustrations of NZ flora and fauna, introduces essential concepts for everyday use of te reo and English including:
– Simple pro-noun use
– Language for simple introductions
– Wellbeing enquiries and responses
– Actions tamariki will love
