What’s On: 5 ways you can recharge, reconnect and make a difference

Oxfam Trailwalker is taking place in the breathtaking New Plymouth region during 11 to 12 March 2023. Here’s five reasons why you’ll want to take this chance to reconnect.

Now is the time to recharge yourself, reconnect and take on an incredible challenge with your friends and whānau.

In March 2023, thousands of Kiwis will come together to challenge themselves and challenge the injustice that keeps people trapped in poverty by taking part in New Zealand’s largest team endurance event: Oxfam Trailwalker. Sign up to be a part of a team of four and tackle either 100 kilometres in 36 hours, or 50 kilometres in 18 hours. All the while raising vital funds for Oxfam’s work.

Oxfam works with some of the world’s most at-risk communities to provide people with the tools, education, experience and knowledge to help them pull themselves out of poverty.

Oxfam Trailwalker is suitable for people aged 18 to 80, at any fitness level — from trail-walking novices to pro-athletes… It is not a relay – this epic challenge is for the teams of four to start and finish together on the exclusive Taranaki trail!

1. Reconnect with the beauty of Aotearoa

Under the majestic Taranaki Maunga or Mt Taranaki, Trailwalker will give you an opportunity to re connect with Aotearoa New Zealand’s beauty. You’ll be able to walk the exclusive Oxfam Trailwalker track all while supporting local tourism.
