What’s On: Garden Marlborough

This year New Zealand’s premier garden event Garden Marlborough runs from 8-11 November 2018.

It’s 25 years since a trio of mad gardeners dreamt up an event to celebrate their local gardens and bring other garden-crazy folk together. The famed Rapaura Springs Garden Marlborough includes garden tours, garden-themed workshops and social events with full-day and half-day garden tours encompassing everything from compact designer gardens in the heart of Blenheim to breath-taking country estates. Brush up on horticultural knowledge and skills in workshops run by experts including British-born and Kew Gardens-trained garden designer Chris Woods who now lives in the US. (Chris worked on Chanticleer Garden in Philadelphia, VanDusen Botanical Garden in Vancouver, Canada and the Mendocino Coast Botanical Garden in California). Meet like-minded gardeners at the popular Garden Party on the Saturday and head along to the Stihl Shop Garden Fête with over 200 stall holders offering the very best New Zealand produce. Entrance to the Fête is free so bring the family and enjoy a full day’s entertainment.

With the stunning Marlborough Sounds on its doorstep, rugged mountain ranges, fertile plains and world class Sauvignon Blanc, Marlborough has a lot to offer – so stay for the whole weekend, or longer! This year New Zealand’s premier garden event runs from 8-11 November 2018
