What’s On: Shortland Street — The Musical


14 November to 9 December, ASB Waterfront Theatre, Auckland, national tour March–April 2019 .

Billed as an affectionate parody of the soap genre and a celebration of the long-running serial drama Shortland Street (which first screened in 1992), Shortland Street – The Musical is a full-sized musical comedy featuring iconic characters, cliffhanger storylines and 1990s throwbacks from the classic era of the nation’s well-known television show.

With music and lyrics by Auckland-based playwright and actor Guy Langford, the melodic repartee includes Not in Guatemala Now, Stuck in a Love Triangle and The Five Wives of Doctor Warner. The cast of 15 includes Mark Hadlow, Chris Parker, Bronwyn Turei and Lisa Chappell. atc.co.nz
