Recipe: Pete’s Natural Currant Crush Cocktail


A blackcurrant spritzer described as “tasting like childhood” gets a grown-up twist with the addition of white spirits.

Pete’s Natural Currant Crush is the 2023 Label & Litho Drink Champion.

Makes: 6 cocktails

INGREDIENTS

large handful mint, plus 6 sprigs to garnish
1½ cups vodka or gin
½ cup lemon juice
4 x 300ml bottles Pete’s Natural Currant Crush
6 slices lemon peel, to garnish

METHOD

Muddle the mint and add to a pitcher. Add the vodka or gin, lemon juice and Pete’s Natural Currant Crush and stir.

Pour into glasses over ice. Garnish with a slice of lemon peel rolled around a mint sprig secured with a cocktail pick.
